Like many 50in plasma TVs, has the Pioneer Kuro PDP5080 HDTV resolution of 1366x768 pixels. This is not so much as a competitor (and usually more expensive) 1080p models. However, on 50-inch screen size, the pros are not clear for most of 1080p sources. While most plasmas do not display an adequate job of blacks, the Pioneer PDP5080 is remarkable! One con out of the box is the color accuracy of the ad. Kuro, the accuracy is not the best, especially with green colors. ToAchieve the absolute best image a little tweaking is definitely needed and can be easily fixed.
Design
The Pioneer PDP-5080, like most plasma televisions today is very elegant look. The structure is a high gloss black with silver on the sides, top and bottom on the set. From the front only black is visible. The Pioneer PDP-5080 includes a matching stand. It allows the speaker to be removed below the plate, if you want to use an external audioSystem.
Overall
The plasma displays an awesome deep shade of black with a clean image. The Pioneer Kuro HDTV also has an anti-reflective screen, which reduces the glare of light. Although it is not 1080p, we do not know think that this is a topic for a series of this size. It was hard to find a difference between the image from this series and one of the newer 1080p TV. Therefore, we believe that this is one of the best TV's sold today ... definitely worth ispurchase.
